A Percheron is a breed of rugged and powerful horses that come from the valley of Peche in the northern region of France. The mane on the Percheron is thicker than most breeds – but their tail is quite a bit shorter. This particular breed is known for having strong muscles that help it to perform heavy tasks – but are most commonly used in competitions.

The many characteristics and features of the Percherons show that it descends from the Arabian horses. While these horses may look strong and menacing they are actually very sweet natured. They are also very proud natured, smart, and aware of their surroundings. They have a gentle attitude that makes them perfect for driving and makes them great to use for hard labor.

Percherons can be used for personal riding and can even be trained to do certain jumps. They easily adapt to any weather condition. Most Percherons live to be about 25.
